Ritesh Pothan, Senior VP – Business Development, Scorpius Trackers, is an accomplished speaker and visionary in the Solar Energy space in India. Ritesh is from an Engineering Background with a Master’s Degree in Technology and had spent more than a decade as the Infrastructure Head for a public limited company with the last 8 years dedicated to Solar.
Prior to joining Scorpius Trackers, he was a founding member of NG, which helped a number of IPPs mould their energy strategies to ensure that their visions were fulfilled in the most optimal manner. He also advised companies in their goal to source complete solutions via Renewables especially Solar.
Ritesh in his spare time manages the largest Indian Solar Groups on LinkedIn as well as passionately writes about the latest policy as well as happenings on the most read Indian Solar / Renewable Energy blog. He is well published across digital and print media dedicated to Renewables in India and across the globe - Energy Next, Energetica, Solar Media UK, Renewable Energy Magazine Spain, Infraline, Powerline……to name a few.
As an engaging orator, he is a much-invited speaker at a number of conferences and provides profound insights into the future of Solar and RE as a whole. He accurately predicted the future of RECs as well as passionately believes in problem solving.
The Solar Association of Gujarat had also adopted his suggestions and proposed a complete revamp of the REC thought process to the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. He is a firm believer in the need for distributed energy via Solar as the primary medium to secure the nation’s energy future and reduce dependence on external factors.
Currently with Scorpius Trackers managing global business development, he's championing the cause for optimizing power generation for the Solar Industry merging cutting edge “Made in India” technology while minimizing project costs thus delivering on the credo ‘do more, with less’
